I forgot to mention - I was surprised to learn yesterday that we DO have some IF coverage with our insurance now. Apparently the plan we changed to at the beginning of this year offers coverage, which we've never had before. I can't believe I didn't know that, but that difference wasn't listed between the three options we were given for 2011. What luck!
The coverage is limited, but some coverage is better than none. We have to meet our deductible $2500. Then they cover 80% in network of most fertility services (would not cover donor gametes/surrogacy/sterilization reversals) after that up to a total lifetime coverage of $18,000. Obviously that isn't even 2 IVF cycles, but that would be several IUI treatment rounds which average $1200 with oral meds and $3400 with injectibles at our clinic.
One thing that confuses me is that our paperwork says the RE lab - which does the semen preparation - is not partnered with any insurance plan so payment must be made up front. Does that mean we can still submit this to insurance for reimbursement or counting towards our deductible? That part is like $500. Even if the insurance considers it to be out of network, they would cover 60% of it, if we can submit it somehow.
UPDATE - my CD3 labs are back.
FSH - 4.5 (supposed to be below 10)
LH - 5.8 (normal)
Estradiol - 46 (supposed to be under 50)
So all of that is within normal parameters and does not suggest diminished ovarian reserve, which is good!
